The Judge's List - John Grisham

Who would ever think that a sitting judge would be a serial killer? Oops! Spoiler Alert! Grisham is still one of our most talented, skillful and engaging fiction writers. The daughter of a victim plays bloodhound over decades and convinces a bureaucrat in the Office of Judicial Review to pursue the man she knows to be a spiteful murderer. The pieces fall together and the connections build into a tense drama running across states, involving the FBI, state police and a committed lawyer. Maybe not one of his best works, but the character development and scene-setting here changes the focus enough to keep the paging turning deep into the night. The thing about Grisham novels.....they're all memorable.
