A delightful, gifted writer; but one of the oddest, freakiest childhood experiences imaginable (vivid gay sex?!). Its otherworldly landscape reminds me of "The World According to Garp," in coming to grips with a distorted upbringing. (I'm going through memoirs now, looking for guidance on my own.....and this should serve me well!
